I am a lifelong learner that has been drawing since I could pick up a crayon. My dad taught me proper lettering as a youngster and as I got older I self-taught myself calligraphy.
I took drafting and commercial art as high-school electives and pursued a Business Admin - Marketing diploma at Okanagan College. From there I launched a career in advertising and marketing sales that morphed into art director at a four-color print shop.
My career covered newspaper, television, magazine, printing sales, plus art direction of print & publications, branding, design, copywriting and editing. I also did international high-tech digital-sign sales and trade-show set up.
My career then veered into retail sales and operations manager for a family-owned furniture & home decor business, where I applied my graphic design skills to interior design. I managed the marketing and website design, and did sales and office management.
When the family business closed in 2020, it was time to upgrade my design and marketing skill-set for the digital-age. I completed the Graphic Design Technology diploma program in 2021, through CDI College.
I seek to work collaboratively with companies and community organizations to amp-up their brands, in a way that speaks to their audiences and foster long-lasting, beneficial relationships.
